Your trust matters to me. As a licensed Nevada wedding officiant and mobile notary, I follow strict business and banking guidelines to ensure every client interaction is safe, compliant, and transparent.
To protect you—and my business—I follow these safeguards:
· I only accept payment for my own services, in the exact amount due.
· I do not deposit checks that include funds for other vendors or third parties.
· I verify all event addresses and appointment details in advance to prevent confusion
or misrepresentation.
· I maintain written documentation of all communication for clarity and accountability.
· I never forward or redistribute funds on behalf of clients, guardians, or sponsors.
· I respond promptly and professionally to all legitimate inquiries while declining suspicious or non-compliant requests.]]
These practices ensure that every ceremony, signing, and appointment is handled with integrity, safety, and full Nevada compliance. My goal is to create a calm, trustworthy experience for every client I serve.
As a mobile notary, trust delivery agent, and licensed wedding officiant serving Northern Nevada, I take client safety and financial security seriously. Recently, I encountered a common scam targeting officiants and mobile service providers.
Here are the red flags everyone should know:
· A check is mailed for more than your fee, with instructions to forward the “extra” to another vendor.
· The sender applies urgent pressure to deposit the check immediately.
· The event address is incorrect, nonexistent, or unverifiable.
· Communication becomes inconsistent or evasive when details are requested.
· A “guardian,” “sponsor,” or third party is suddenly involved in payment.
These are classic signs of an overpayment scam, where the check eventually bounces and the victim is left responsible for the full amount.
I share this to help protect others in our community—especially fellow officiants, notaries, and small business owners. If something feels off, trust your instincts, document everything, and never deposit or forward funds on behalf of someone else.
Stay safe, stay aware, and keep serving with integrity.
